Classes

What classes can I take? This list will help you with placement. If you have questions please call (847) 637-3800 for placement help. Returning students refer to your placement postcard.  To view the current schedule, look at the School Year or Summer Class Page!

Parent/Tot

Play-acting, music and motor skill development for 16-30 month-olds with parent guardian. Non-performing class, parent pańicipates (barefoot or dance shoes please).

Tot Dance

Play-acting, music and motor skill development for 28-36 month-olds. We plan to have them perform in the spring (costume fee included), and possibly winter if ready.

Boogie Babies

Play-acting, music and movement for 3 year olds (must be 3 by Sept, 1).

Kiddydance

Beginning ballet tap class for 4 year olds (must be 4 by Sept. 1).

Ballet/Tap 1

Beginning ballet/tap class divided by age group (BT1.5 = age 5-6, BT1.6 = age 6-9, BT1.9 = age 9-12).

Jazz 1

Beginning jazz class divided by age group (J1.6 = age 6-8, J1.9 = age 9-12)

Ballet/Tap 2

Ballet/tap combination class for students age 6-9 with 1-3 years experience.

Ballet 3-6

Teacher approval required for entry, Ballet 5 and 6 must also lake ballet technique
(B5 take 1 technique/week, BB take 2 technique/week).

Teen Ballet

Fast-paced ballet classes for teen and adult students divided into three skill levels. Teen Ballet 2 and 3 are encouraged to take an additional technique class.

Ballet Technique

Non-performing technical ballet class for intermediate to advanced students.

Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Students in ballet 5 or 6 may start pre-pointe, multiple ballet classes required. Must sign up l for ballet technique, ballet 5 or ballet 6 class immediately before pre-pointe or pointe class.

Tap 3-7

Teacher approval required for entry.

Teen Tap 1

Fast-paced beginning tap class for teen and adult students. Students in jazz are strongly encouraged to start or continue ballet training.

Jazz 2-6

Teacher approval required for entry. Jazz 5 and 6 are also required to take ballet. Students in jazz are strongly encouraged to start or continue ballet training.

Teen Jazz

Fast Paced Jazz classes for teen and adult students divided into three skill levels, Teen Jazz students are strongly encouraged to take ballet along with jazz.

Turns, Leaps and Jumps

Technical training class for dancers wanting to improve skills. Must be in level 4 or higher ballet or jazz, or by recommendation. Drop in punch card available for this class.

Modern

Age 9+ with prior Ballet 3+ experience and must continue in ballet One section of Modern 1 is forage 11+. Modem 2-5 by teacher recommendation only.

Hip Hop

Urban street style dancing for 5th grade and older. Level 1 by age, level 2 and 3 by teacher recommendation only.

Teen Hip Hop

Hip Hop class open to all students grade 8-12.

Adult Tap 

Divided by level, Beginning or Intermediate tap class for adults, no recital.

Swing Choir

Singing and dancing to pop music, divided by age: SCl = 1st-3rd gr., SC2 = 4th-6th gr., SCS 7th-9th gr.

Voice

ln 30-mìnute private lessons, students learn vocal technique. Gills should
be at least 12 and boys should be at least 14. Call for a time slot.

Piano

Private lessons for students of all skill levels, age 7 to adult Call for a time slot.

Acting

Divided by age group: work on improvization, character development, scenework, monologues, theatre games.  Develop skills to improve stage presence, confidence, and public speaking along with acting for plays and musicals.

To educate children and adults about the arts, develop their skills as well as their self-esteem, have fun, and give students practical skills for life.

Monday: 9:30-11:00 am, 4:00-8:30 pm
Tuesday: 1:00-2:30 pm, 4:00-8:30 pm
Wednesday/Thursday: 9:30-11:00 am, 4:15-8:30 pm
Friday: 4:00-6:30 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am-1:00 pm
Sunday: 6:30-8:00 pm

 Summer Hours Vary (Generally closed Fri/Sa/Sun, Please Call for M-Th hours)
