  • Crystal Lake South High School Graduate
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign- School of Music: Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition
  • Accepted into Columbia College Chicago’s Music Composition for the Screen Masters Program
  • Completed Teacher Certification Program (Music K-12) in 2015

Training and Performance Highlights

  • Kristin has studied piano since age 8, and has been teaching lessons for over 6 years. She has been accompanying choirs since age 14 and has accompanied instrumentalists at grade levels 5th through college graduate level. 
  • She was a performance exam accompanist at U of I, and the featured pianist during her final Symphonic Band I performance in May 2010. Since college, she has played for numerous musicals (piano and trombone) at the Woodstock Opera House, Schaumburg on Stage, and Crystal Lake South High School.
  • Kristin also plays trombone, and loves playing in pit orchestras, the Marching Illini and Basketball Band, and plays with as many groups as she can- including the Falconaires Orchestra, Chicago Metropolitan Brass Orchestra, Chicago Trombone Authority, and the Bensenville and Crystal Lake Community Bands. She is also an experienced arranger/composer, and has written for many groups including the Marching Illini and Bethany Lutheran Church.

Teaching Experience

  • CGPAC Piano Teacher as of 2013
  • Many years' experience teaching piano lessons
  • Long-term substitute choir director and accompanist at Cary-Grove High School (Spring 2013)
  • Handbell choir director at both Bethany Lutheran Church and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake

Personal

Kristin spends most of her time doing anything and everything musical. She is involved in conducting and playing handbells, teaching and playing piano, organ, trombone, African drums, singing, playing in pit orchestras, accompanying, composing and arranging. If its music- she loves it! She also loves hiking and rock climbing, roller coasters, cooking, going to rock concerts, and all things Disney.

 School Year Hours (Sept-May when classes are in session)

Monday: 9:30-11:00 am, 4:00-8:30 pm
Tuesday: 1:00-2:30 pm, 4:00-8:30 pm
Wednesday/Thursday: 9:30-11:00 am, 4:00-8:30 pm
Friday: 4:00-6:30 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am-1:00 pm
Sunday: 6:30-8:00 pm

 Summer Hours Vary (Generally closed Fri/Sa/Sun, Please Call for M-Th hours)
