Costume Information Grid:

For our winter performance we use simple costuming that we loan to you along with your own leotard/etc to complete the outfit. Some dancers will need to provide ballet shorts, or black leggings/capris/jazz pants.

All details are indicated on the costume information grid.

We are still making some changes to this, especially to the "hair" column as we solidify a performance order, so please check back after Thanksgiving to confirm hair plans!

Dress Rehearsal Schedules and tips for success:

The dress rehearsal schedules for M 12/5 - Th 12/8 are now available.
Please note that every class has one time slot at CGPAC on either M or Tu AND one time slot at CGHS on either W or TH.  Both are dress rehearsals.
  • Stage makeup should be worn for the stage rehearsal but is optional for the studio rehearsal.
  • Hair at the studio rehearsal should be done as indicated unless the schedule is too tight to change hairstyles (in which case, just leave it in a bun).
  • Hair for stage rehearsal should be in the correct style for performance.  Please ask if you will need help with any hair style changes.

Tips for success at studio dress rehearsals:
  • The studio dress rehearsal is 10-30 minutes depending on if it is combined with other classes.
  • Plan to arrive at CGPAC 10 minutes before your dress rehearsal time just in case parking is difficult.  If you arrive after 5 pm, plan to turn into the Metra lot once you turn on Jandus because spots will most likely be opening up as people get off the train.
  • Please do not enter the building more than 5 minutes before your rehearsal as there will be nowhere for you to go until the class prior leaves. You may need to just hang in your car for a few minutes if you had an easy time parking.
  • Do not park in the "drop off" spots outside the CG Dancewear door!  If you are dropping off and not getting out, please use these spots and then park elsewhere!
  • Parents are welcome to come in to watch their child's studio dress rehearsal.  Please leave your shoes in the front lobby.  No street shoes beyond the front lobby! You may film their rehearsal (a good idea in case they need to practice!) Exception: no one will be able to come in the room to watch Waltz of the Flowers rehearsal.  There are way too many kids (35-50 in each cast!) and no parents will be let in the room.  You can wait in the lobby or, ideally, in your car.
  • Dancers with costume changes may use the dressing rooms or just change in the classroom.  They need to have a bodyliner if they are changing.  Please get one if you have not already.

Tips for success at the "on stage" dress rehearsals:
  • You have a "check-in" time and an "on stage" time.  Check-in just means be in the theatre with dance shoes on and sit in the seats waiting to be called to the backstage. Each class gets about 8 minutes on stage total.  They will run the dance, fix formations/adjust, and then run it a second time. We try very hard to keep within a few minutes of this very detailed schedule.  Do not cut it close, please try to be early! It is very stressful on the kids if they are running in as their class is on stage.  These are mandatory dress rehersals and if your dancer is not there when their class goes on stage, we may adjust formations to perform without them.
  • You can (and should) come early and watch a few other dances before your student goes on stage.  Especially for younger dancers this is really important.  It gives them an idea of what they are going to do and makes it fun when it's finally their turn.  Likewise, you can stay and watch as many other adnces after your rehearsal as you want, too!
  • If you only have 1 dance between your stage rehearsals please change backstage. It will be much faster and less stressful.  Bring your second costume backstage when you come for your first rehearsal. Ask if you need assistance.
  • Remember there is no food or drink allowed in the theatre.  Please do not break this rule.  If you need to eat, please go to the tile floor front lobby.
  • Miss Amy's phone number for emergencies is 224-622-5949.  If you are running late please call so we can try to hold for your dancer or take the next class.  We cannot always do this, but it is vital that you communicate if you are late.

Conflict forms will be due by Nov. 15th, and then Miss Amy will be able to create a dress rehearsal schedule that works for with everyone's restrtictions.  It will be published after Thanksgiving.

Once a rehearsal schedule is made, we will link it above. This Google Spreadsheet will be for all classes (both casts) together.  You can view, or download and save to use for your own schedule (highlight, sort etc).
Conflict Form for Dress Rehearsal Week: If you have conflicts that are not flexible (school concert, school basketball game, etc) please fill out this google form to specify your restrictions.  Due by Nov. 15th.

Early Release Permission Form:  If you must take your student before they are done with the show, you must print this form, text it to Miss Amy for approval 224-622-5949. Dancers in Kindergarten and younger will be released to their parents at intermission of each performance.  All other dancers are expected to remain backstage and will have a final bow with the cast. This "release form" is only for things that absolutely need to happen, it is vital that we keep track of every student at all times and taking them early causes disruption backstage. Thank you.
